Dr. Burns was born and raised in the Northland and is a proud graduate of North Kansas City High School. His only 4 years spent outside of Kansas City were while attending Stanford University, where he obtained his undergraduate degree in Human Biology. He went on to obtain his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Kansas, where he also completed his specialty training in Pediatrics.

Dr. Burns strives to establish meaningful and lasting relationships with his patients and their families, from birth through the start of adulthood. He takes pride in his ability to find common ground with anyone he encounters, and by doing so is able to communicate clearly and effectively while providing the best care possible. As a young parent himself, he especially enjoys helping to guide new parents as they navigate the ever-changing world of parenthood. Dr. Burns especially enjoys the privilege of practicing in the community that helped shape him into the physician he is today.

Dr. Burns enjoys all things Kansas City, as well as traveling, music, sports, and keeping up to date with pop culture. More than anything, he enjoys spending time with his wife Laura, daughter Evie, and son James.
